There’s a new Castlevania game coming to the 3DS: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow-Mirror of Fate. A continuation of the recent Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate puts players in the role of Trevor Belmont as he traverses the horrifying castle of the infamous Count Dracula.
Mirror of Fate, like classic Castlevania games, is a 2D action sidescroller, but will be rendered using 3D models. Trevor will use his chain link whip to dispatch hordes of horror-themed monsters: from animated skeletons, to giant executioner ogres, to possessed suits of armor. In addition to his whip, Trevor will also have access to an array of subweapons. In the recent 3DS press conference, the boomerang was showcased as a potential subweapon. It could be thrown to stick to enemies and inflict additional damage.
Mirror of Fate will star not only Trevor, but Simon Belmont, Alucard, and an as-of-yet unannounced fourth character. The game will launch sometime this Fall.
