Back at E3, we were given a glimpse of a game at the time titled Project P-100.  In this game, you controlled a character who had a group of people (presumably one hundred people) act in certain ways for them, such as turn into a cannon or a giant hand.

Well, as of today’s Wii U press conference, the Pikmin-esque game will now be known as The Wonderful 101.  Here’s a taste of what’s to come in this game:

As you can see, aliens are coming to take over the planet and you, along with 100 of the world’s most wonderful, have to stop them.  As the player, you control your group’s actions through use of the Wii U Game Pad as you make your way through a world that looks like a mix of Viewtiful Joe and a Pixar movie.

As you play, you will collect citizens to turn into heroes that have their own super power – such as turning into a giant hand, a weapon, or a bridge – as well as being able to protect themselves in a gelatin shield.  And the more heroes you collect, the stronger each power will be.

The Wonderful 101 is developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo.  Although no release date was revealed, it is expected to arrive during the launch window.
