IGDAWith a new head at its helm, the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), an NPO involving smaller interactive-entertainment developers from around the world and their interests within the media and gaming industry, is now conducting an online search for a permanent General Operations Manager. Their current interim manager, James Baldwin, is stepping down from his position on February 17th, leaving his station after one year of service. Therefore, Kate Edwards, the Executive Director of the organization, is currently accepting applications and resumes for this hard-working and prestigious position. While there has not been any verified acquisitions of late, rumors tell that several high-class people in the industry have noticed this situation and thrown their hats into the ring.

According to the posting on their website, “The Operations Manager runs the day-to-day operations of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) and is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of organizational operations through effective methods and strategies. In close coordination with the Executive Director, this position facilitates several programs within the organization, handles logistics, assists with event planning and execution and interfaces with the membership-at-large. As part of a small core staff, the Operations Manager must know how to handle problems quickly and efficiently and work to find resourceful, proactive solutions to logistical challenges.

Such a weighty task comes with high qualifications, which can be referenced in our source link. Those of us here at Operation Rainfall wish the IGDA, and Ms. Edwards, a smooth and efficient transition in this critical time.
