High School DxD New

The second season of the High School DxD anime series, High School DxD New, will be released this July according to the series’ official Twitter account. The tweet included a photo of the High School DxD booth at Anime Contents Expo.

The franchise has its roots in a light novel series by Ichiei Ishibumi, which is going into its 13th volume. It’s since been adapted into a manga as well as an anime series. The main character of the franchise is Issei Hyodo, a perverted high school student who has just lined up his very first date. It doesn’t quite end like he hoped it would though. Instead of closing the night with something romantic, Issei ends up murdered. He’s later reincarnated as a devil and made to serve Rias Gremory, a beautiful devil who also just happens to be his senpai at school. This puts him directly in the middle of a battle between a bevy of beautiful angels and devils; and depending on your point of view, this might actually be a positive turn of events.

A few new characters and voice actors are joining the cast for season 2, including:

- Risa Taneda as Zenobia

- Maaya Uchida as Irina Shido

- Haruka Yamazaki as Aika Kiriyu

Funimation licensed the anime’s first season, and episodes of it can streamed directly from their website here (http://www NULL.funimation NULL.com/high-school-dxd).
