Etrian Odyssey IV’s soundtrack will be composed by long time series composer Yuzo Koshiro, but unlike his previous work with the series, EOIV’s soundtrack features a distinctly less synthesized sound. The below videos feature battle themes from Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City and Etrian Odyssey IV, respectively.

The OST for previous EO titles typically included a synthesized version and the original DS soundtrack, as well as various remixes, depending on the version of the soundtrack fans purchased. The upcoming Etrian Odssey IV: FM Arrange + Drama CD will feature synthesized versions for several of the title’s tracks. If you’re a huge fan of the series’ music, you might even opt for the Super Arrange Version, which features remixes of the soundtrack.

Etrian Odyssey IV has yet to be announced for our shores, but there’s little reason to doubt it won’t eventually happen. All three of the DS titles reached us by way of Atlus, so here’s hoping that Atlus lets us continue our dungeon-crawling journeys on the 3DS soon.

Aside from his work in the Etrian Odyssey series, Yuzo Koshiro has also composed soundtracks for the SNES action/simulation title ActRaiser and several entries in the Ys series, among others.

A few other tracks from the soundtrack can be heard at the official Japanese Etrian Odyssey IV site.

I joined Oprainfall in August 2012 as a writer and reporter. After I proved myself, I became Review Manager and handled all reviews for the site. I then branched out and took over all PR duties for Oprainfall. Now I keep us in touch with publishers, obtain codes for official reviews, schedule interviews, and tackle other assorted PR responsibilities. I'll play anything, but I view new releases with a cynical eye.
