Attack on Titan

Here’s a little something short for you about the upcoming Attack on Titan live-action adaptation. It’s going to be sweet, first, and then a little bittersweet, so be ready. Kouji Tajima, a conceptual designer who has done work for shows and films such as the Total Recall remake, Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker, and Captain Harlock, today shared a poster for the upcoming film release of the live-action version of Attack on Titan, also known in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin. Here’s the poster, which I personally think is just gorgeous:

Attack on Titan

Now, here are a few things that you’re not going to want to hear. This isn’t an official poster (I’m just repeating it, though you probably gathered that from the title). Additionally, the film release date which is shown on this poster is completely made up. So, there’s no actual official announced date for the film yet. Just putting that info out there.

Tajima has admitted that his poster was inspired by the layout for a poster for the anime adaptation. Check out that version of the poster below, and tell us which one you prefer!

Joey Williamson
Joey is a summer 2012 graduate of the Studio Art program at Florida State University, where he focused in illustration and sculpture. He's currently employed part-time at Toys"R"Us, sitting on that job to buff up his resume while applying for other jobs more relevant to his degree. Things that you might catch him doing on his time off include frequent trips to the movie theater, throwing down some new sketches for project ideas that will never see the light of day, or crying about having to go to work the next day. To break the lull of his tears, he likes to watch anime and try out new games, particularly MMOs. He's a huge Sailor Moon fanboy, but also gives a 10 out of 10 to shows like Arakawa Under the Bridge, Katanagatari, and Kids on the Slope.
