Digital pre-orders for Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse are currently up. The game follows three friends who return to Rogetsu Isle to search for answers regarding a disappearance while after two of their friends mysteriously die around the 10th anniversary of the incident. Like other titles in the series, the Camera Obscura returns in order to fend off the spirits. For the remaster some new costumes have been added in addition to those from the original release. Several accessories will be available for those who pre-order it such as a Marie Rose costume from DOA and some masks. Those who have save data of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will also unlock the Camera Obscura hat. A digital deluxe edition is also up and includes another costume set and a digital artbook, which includes the soundtrack. In addition to the announcement a story trailer has also been released.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse will be released digitally for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on March 9.
