The Lord of Terror Returns in Diablo II: Resurrected on September 23

“Arise, Diablo, Lord of Terror…”

It’s been more than twenty years since those words were first heard, and they’re no less haunting. Now, those words ring louder than ever. Evil has survived. The acclaimed action role-playing phenomenon, Diablo II, will be resurrected on September 23, 2021 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Many moons have passed since the Heroes of Sanctuary defeated the forces of the Burning Hells and the Prime Evil himself. Two decades later, The Dark Lord has returned to enact his vengeance upon the realms of humanity. New players and veterans of the Eternal Conflict prepare to relive the epic adventure that changed the action-RPG genre forever. Diablo II: Resurrected is coming, now for the first-time on console, remastered from the ground up to take advantage of the capabilities of Xbox Series X|S.

This August, the gates of Hell will reopen early, allowing beta testers in for a limited time. Players who preordered Diablo II: Resurrected will be the first to step into the past with early access to the open beta. But surely that won’t sate Hell’s hunger for souls. Later, all who have the mettle and willingness to confront the minions of evil will be granted their darkest desire when the open beta commences, allowing access to all players across the Xbox community!

Please note: While Xbox Live Gold will not be required to play during the general open beta, Xbox Live Gold will be required to play during the early access period of the open beta and to access multiplayer features at launch.

Choose between five different classes (Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid) in the open beta test with access to many unique skills, and party up with up to 8 players to vanquish the forces of evil. Work cooperatively with friends to gather loot… or slay them as foes to steal their plunder. The choice is yours.

We can’t wait for longtime fans and new players alike to relive this timeless classic. Engaging hack-and-slash gameplay and the immersive setting of Diablo II enchanted scores of gamers back in 2000. And it’s just as captivating today. If you want to learn more about Diablo II: Resurrected, check out our website here, or for real-time updates, follow the Dark Lord on Twitter @Diablo!
