During the February 2021 State of Play presentation, Square Enix announced FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE, an enhanced version of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE (PS4), for PlayStation 5. The PS5 version features enhanced textures, lighting, backgrounds and improved loading times. Two game modes, “Performance Mode” and “Graphics Mode,” will also be available. “Performance Mode” prioritizes running the game at 60 frames per second and “Graphics Mode” prioritizes keeping the game at 4K resolution. There will also be new difficulty levels for “Classic Mode” and the addition of “Photo Mode.” Among these other enhancements, a brand new  episode featuring Yuffie Kisaragi will also be available for the PS5 version.

Owners of FF7R on PS4 will be able to upgrade to FF7R Intergrade on PS5 for free. After upgrading to the PS5 version, players can purchase the new Yuffie episode via PlayStation Store. You can check out the announcement video as well as a PS5 features video for FF7R Intergrade below.
