oprainfall | Ys Origin

Developer and publisher, Dotemu, is excited to launch the cult classic JRPG, Ys Origin, on the Nintendo Switch! This version has been improved and is available to download for $19.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The trailer below introduces playable characters including the holy knight Yunica Torvah, and sorcerer Hugo Fact. They must now defend humanity from the demon hordes that threaten it, as an invasion seeks to destroy it all.

Humanity’s sanctuary nestled in the clouds faces a dire threat, as a demonic invasion is working feverishly to reach them. It’s up to you to defend humanity against the demons’ onslaught in this prequel. You’ll have to find the world’s Goddesses to ask for their aid while you still have time. Along the way, you’ll face massive and formidable bosses who will gladly stand against you in battle. Ys Origin on Nintendo Switch also has a speedrun mode. Can you fight through a tower crawling with demons to find the Goddesses who abandoned the world and save humanity?

You can find out more about all that developer/publisher Dotemu is up to at their official website.

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general).

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
