Who likes gothic horror? If you just raised your hand, I’ve got great news for you! One of the more interesting games shown off at the PC Game Show today was called Rogue Lords. Published by Nacon and developed by Leikir Studio, it visually has a touch of gothic creepiness, with long arms, black garb and pointy claws. Think Nightmare Before Christmas, but a little less wholesome.

Rogue Lords | Fiends

As the title would suggest, Rogue Lords is also a rogue-like. Meaning it can be hard as hell. Each character you recruit has unique skills to bring to combat, and you’ll make key decisions across your current run. Thankfully, you’re on the side of the Devil (yes, the one and only), and so you have a few tricks up your voluminous sleeves. Besides fighting off terrifying foes with the likes of Baron Samedi, you can also call in a favor from Mr. Scratch himself. This’ll let you do things like tweak enemy health and adjust the rules of combat on the fly. All it’ll require are a few souls, but I’m sure you have some extra to barter with. Just keep in mind, when the minions of the Devil become vulnerable, old Hornhead’s health is at risk too. So if you’re not careful, you’ll lose along with your minions.

Rogue Lords has me hooked with the aesthetic design and the combat premise. I just wish I knew more about it. Currently there’s no website for the game, or even a Steam listing. But that could be because Rogue Lords is slated to release sometime in 2021. In the meantime, you can just check out the trailer below and see if you’re ready to fight with the Devil.
