Here’s some big news for fans of the classic FPS franchise, Serious Sam. In press release put out today by Devolver Digital and Croteam they have announced that Serious Sam 4 is coming to a PC near you very soon.

Actually a prequel to the series, Serious Sam 4 follows the adventures of iconic protagonist, Sam “Serious” Stone and his squad of commandos, all making up the Earth Defense Force. The Earth Defense Force must fight off an alien invasion made up of some familiar faces from previous games, like the infamous Headless Kamikaze and many more. The game promises to continue the series long tradition of blowing up wave after wave and horrifying alien monsters with your impressive arsenal of guns and explosives. It’ll even feature online co-op that can be played with up to four players.

 

 

Serious Sam is a long running series of first-person shooters created by Croteam dating back to 2001 with the release of Serious Sam: The First Encounter. The series consists of three mainline games a long with a number of spinoffs, some of which exploring other genres, such as Serious Sam: The Random Encounter which borrows both from RPGs as well as bullet hells.

Serious Sam 4 launches sometimes in August of this year for Steam and Google Stadia for $39.99 USD. You can head on over to Steam right now to pre-order and/or pick up the previous games, all at healthy discounts. As always, checkout the press release below for more information:
