Nintendo Download | Fantasy Strike

I always enjoy writing up the Nintendo Download, but especially when it heralds the release of a game I’m really excited about. This week, that game is the latest from the Fire Emblem series. Despite not knowing a ton about the game courtesy of Nintendo, I still am very, very hyped to play the latest console iteration. Besides that, there are the usual sales, more featured games, digital offerings, some My Nintendo goodies and more to enjoy. Let’s start with the game I’m salivating over.

Nintendo Download | Fire Emblem: Three Houses

I’ve been a fan of Fire Emblem since Sacred Stones, and my passion for the series was reinvigorated with Awakening. In the interim, I wasn’t invested in the console offerings on Gamecube and Wii, but I always wanted to be excited about a Fire Emblem on a bigger console. Which brings us to Fire Emblem: Three Houses tomorrow. It fondly reminds me of Sacred Stones, has three distinct paths you can choose, and some really wonderfully creepy villains this time around. All I know is that there’s a time skip, a green haired woman and that this Fire Emblem is supposed to be around double the length of recent portable entries. But that’s enough to get me excited. Thankfully, Three Houses isn’t the only featured game to look forward to this Nintendo Download. Cute and quirky title Forager is finally making the Switch in a few days, and it’s being joined by colorful fighter Fantasy Strike. If that wasn’t enough, there’s still Wolfenstein: Youngblood, because fragging Nazi scum never gets old. With those out of the way, let’s move on with new My Nintendo activities.

Next up, the Nintendo Download has some new sales to enjoy. Not quite so many as last week, but still a respectable offering. If you want to experience survival horror, try Distrust (Switch) for $9.59; for a mix of RTS and card games, you might enjoy Golem Gates (Switch) for $12.49; for a wonderful retro experience, check out Way of the Passive Fist (Switch) for only $7.49; or if you’re feeling violent, try Dusty Raging Fist (Switch) for $7.99; to monkey around, try Ape Out (Switch) for $10.49; for a dark game, try SKYHILL (Switch) for $1.99; for side scrolling mayhem, try Unruly Heroes (Switch) for $13.99; for old school fun with cats, try MagiCat (Switch) for $1.25; to take a chance on robots, try Mecha Storm (Switch), half off for $9.99; or for a great platformer, try Runner3 (Switch) also for $9.99; to run from zombies, try Death Road to Canada (Switch) for $8.99; for a crazy discount on a great game, try A Robot Named Fight (Switch) for only $1.99; for a unique adventure, try Mulaka (Switch) for $9.99; or for bloody fun, try Super Meat Boy (Switch) for $9.74; for a challenging platformer, try Splasher (Switch) for $5.99; or be jury and executioner as JYDGE (Switch) for $7.49; for something new, try Panpaku (Switch) for $5.99; or for a rogue Resident Evil experience, try Vaccine (Switch) $4.99; for portable puzzle fun, try Pirate Pop Plus (3DS) for $3.49; or for furious speed, try FAST Racing NEO (Wii U) for $9.99. For digital offerings out a bit later, try the following. There’s adventure game The Mystery of Woolley Mountain to start. For a more magical adventure, try Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power. For something adorable, try Sweet Witches. Or for a quirky strategy game, try Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden – Deluxe Edition. For all the other games this week, keep reading.

Here’s the rest of the digital offerings closing out this Nintendo Download. For retro, there’s only Arcade Archives The Ninja Warriors. For a quirky adventure game, try Caged Garden Cock Robin. If you like puzzle games, there’s a couple – PICROSS LORD OF THE NAZARICK and Sheep in Hell. For frenetic fighting fun, try KILL la KILL -IF. Fans of platformers should enjoy Mighty Switch Force! Collection, Songbird Symphony and Umihara Kawase Fresh! And finally, for a duo of SHMUPs, there’s Caladrius Blaze and Raiden V: Director’s Cut.

Overall, a pretty good Nintendo Download, if I say so myself! Thanks as always for joining us here at oprainfall, and be sure to tune in for more Nintendo games next week. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go finish counting the minutes until Three Houses is in my hands…
