AOKANA Physical Kickstarter Now Live, Initial Goal Reached

NekoNyan has started the Kickstarter campaign for special physical editions of AOKANA: Four Rhythms Across the Blue. The purpose of the campaign is not to raise funds for the translation and release of the game, it is done to give fans the chance to receive an exclusive English physical edition of the game along with a lot of nice merchandise.

The physical edition of the game comes in a nice collectors box and also comes with a Steam code for a digital copy of the game. Fans have the chance to receive not only a physical copy of the game, but also a variety of special merchandise. NekoNyan was able to gain permission from sprite to give fans high quality items such as the game’s official art book, multiple different tapestries, 4 different dakimakuras, 2 styles of bed sheets and even a 3D crystal stand featuring an illustration of the four heroines. The lowest pledge tier costs €1 while the highest tier costs €1,100. In order to receive a physical copy of the game, fans would have to pledge to at least Tier 2 which is €60.

The initial goal for the Kickstarter was €10,000 ($11,230), and fans helped smash that goal within a couple hours of the campaign’s start. So far, fans have pledged €19,447 ($21,839) as of the time of this writing. The campaign does not end with the initial goal however, as NekoNyan also set up some stretch goals.

The stretch goals are as follows:

• €25,000 – Adds Shikishi F to Tiers 4 and higher
• €35,000 – Adds Shikishi G to Tiers 4 and higher
• €45,000 – Adds Shikishi H to Tiers 4 and higher
• €60,000 – Adds Shikishi Storage Case to Tiers 6 and higher

There are originally 5 shikishi available for those who pledge, so if the campaign reaches its 3rd stretch goal, that number rises to 8.

It should be noted that some of the merchandise will be available as add-ons on Backerkit, so if you’re only looking to snag some merchandise, you can just pledge to tier 1 so you have access to Backerkit later on. 9 tapestries, 5 shikishi, and the 4 dakimakuras will be available as add-ons once the Kickstarter campaign ends. You will also have the opportunity to upgrade your pledge Tier level on Backerkit once the Kickstarter campaign ends.

NekoNyan is looking to release AOKANA: Four Rhythms Across the Blue digitally this summer for PC as originally planned. They hope to start shipping the physical items to backers in Q4 2019.
