Early this morning there was a Pokémon Direct and in it Game Freak announced the new 8th gen games and showed off some footage. Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in late 2019. A more specific date isn’t known at this time. The games will take place in the new region, Galar. You’ll get to pick one of three new starters as well. There’s the fire type, Scorbunny, the water starter, Sobble and finally the grass type, Grookey.
