Bayonetta (Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2)

NA Release Date: February 16th, 2018
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
Review

I almost feel I shouldn’t have to explain the appeal of Bayonetta to people. I mean, her and sexy just go hand in hand. There’s something very intoxicating about powerful women. Having said that, it was a shock to me that this was the first time Bayonetta has been nominated in this category, which I find absolutely crazy. Not only is Bayo powerful, she oozes sex appeal, dancing around in high heels, randomly losing her clothing and laughing wickedly all the while. But it’s not all about looks or power, she also is charismatic and mischievous. But perhaps best of all, she’s fiercely loyal to her friends, and will go to the ends of the earth to avenge them. Put together, Bayonetta has a hell of a good chance of winning Hottest Girl.

Jade (Dragon Quest XI)
Jade
NA Release Date: September 4th, 2018
Platform(s): PlayStation 4
Review

I don’t know what it is about women with purple hair, but they’re always super hot and usually skilled in the martial arts. As an old comic book nerd, I was drawn to X-Men’s Psylocke, and it seems Jade has much of the same appeal. She’s dignified, powerful and protective of others, not unlike an older sister. She’s also equipped with powerful kicks and deadly weaponry. Really, what’s not to like about a woman like that?

Primrose (Octopath Traveler)
Primrose
NA Release Date: July 13th, 2018
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
Review

While I don’t think it’s cheating per se for Primrose to be a sexy dancer in silken garb, it is a distinct advantage. Women are often sexy just in the way they naturally move, and when you combine a talent for seduction with skilled attacks, Primrose becomes a real competitor. But she’s not just some ditzy dancer, she has suffered real loss in her life, and instead of letting it overwhelm her, it motivates her to get revenge. Gotta love a sexy, powerful and motivated lady.

Sinon (Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet)
Sinon

NA Release Date: February 23rd, 2018
Platform(s): PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Review

Of all the ladies covered this year, I admit I was least familiar with Sinon. Hell, I know even less about the SAO series. But I’m always willing to do a little research and ask others for help, and now I can confidently say I get the appeal. Sinon isn’t just an expert marksman (markswoman?). She also has that girl next door appeal. She can be down to earth and vulnerable as well as cool and collected. Best of all is how easily she gets embarrassed. The only question is, are those factors enough for her to beat the competition?

Vivian (The Alliance Alive)

NA Release Date: March 27th, 2018
Platform(s): Nintendo 3DS
Review

Vivian has a special spot in the list of nominees. She’s the only Daemon and she’s the only noble. Further differentiating herself, she’s a very bookish historian with a soft spot for humans. In a world where humans are looked down upon and segregated, that outlook is a pleasant surprise. One of the things I love most about Vivian is her thirst for adventure. She’s always looking for the next big discovery. Not to mention, there’s something extra cute about a woman with fox ears and a tail…

And the big winner is…
Bayonetta!

Bayonetta is just too damn sexy for her own good. You can’t contain that level of wicked beauty, which is why she even made her way into the Smash Bros. series. Powerful, beautiful and proud, she’s a hell of a witchy woman. Now to just not so patiently wait for the release of her latest adventure on Nintendo Switch!
