Cherry Kiss Games asked me if I would take a look at their latest release Master of the Harem Guild. I thought the art style was nice, and it has been a while since I took a look at a straight up Nukige. This one seemed like an interesting ride at the very least. I mean how many times do you read a visual novel with a demon penis? Let’s see how this crazy romp turned out!

The story here follows a young man named Damien. He wanted badly to join the greatest heroes guild in the land. This guild is run by four amazing women, and each of them was an extraordinary hero. Sonia the Paladin, Tina the Demon Bullet, Alica the Holy Healer and Sara the Witch. They’ve all accomplished amazing feats, so if he could get them to accept him, then fame would be his. They instead shun and make fun of him when they find out he’s a monster tamer. This job is looked down upon in the kingdom.

The Master of the Harem Guild | Talk

In a fit of rage he runs out to prove himself and ventures into the Evil Forest! Here he soon encounters a strange woman that says she will grant him the power to take revenge on the heroes that made fun of him. She curses… err blesses his penis with demon powers making it insatiable and irresistible, where no woman can resist its allure. His quest is set and now he ventures forth to break the women that made fun of him and gain acceptance into the guild. Things don’t quite go as planned however, but you’ll have to read to find out the rest.

The character types are exactly what you you expect. Damien is pretty much an ass to begin with and he becomes even worse when he gains his powers. Sonia is that all powerful girl that has given up her womanhood to fight, but once she becomes his it is super cute. Alica is the holy girl that gets corrupted. Tina was quite flirty to begin with so she gets a little more wild as the story goes on, and Sara is that quiet girl that’s really a lil freaky once she gets started. I think Sara and Tina were my personal favorites.

The Master of the Harem Guild | Booty

The H-Scenes in this are the biggest portion of the game. I mean it is a Nukige, so I this is to be expected. Most of them are fairly well written and have plenty of fetishes in there to make everyone happy. Some of these are pretty extreme. I mean I wasn’t expecting a guy to make clones and give a bukkake show, but hey, who am I to judge? The first scene with the girls he does force himself on them. This is something I’m not a fan of, but it’s not so graphic it made me cringe either. The artwork in these is actually really great, the facial expressions on the characters are absolutely priceless.

The game does have some Japanese voice acting and it’s pretty solid. The girls sound quite erotic during the H-Scenes and they do a pretty good job reading some pretty cheesy text at times. My biggest complaint in the sound area is the slopping sound during the sex scenes. It sounds like someone is trying to suck down the world’s biggest jawbreaker and failing. It’s just annoying and so outta place. It sounds more like a horse stomping than anything else, and there’s none of that in this game. I would recommend muting or turning down the sound effects for your sanity’s sake.

The Master of the Harem Guild | Nell

Master of the Harem Guild is exactly what you would expect for a $12.99 Nukige. It lasts about three hours and there are plenty of H-Scenes with some good art. The voice acting is good, but the sound effects are terrible. Some may find this story weak even for a game in this genre, but most probably wouldn’t pick this one up for that kinda plot to begin with. If you like visual novels like this, it’s likely a worthy purchase even if it is nothing special.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
