Atelier Rorona | Art by Mel Kishida

The latest Weekly Famitsu has revealed a new game in the Atelier Arland series is in development. Atelier Lulua: The Alchemist of Arland 4 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Switch in Japan in 2019. Mel Kishida will once again handle the character designs for the game.

The protagonist of the game is Elmeria Frixell, the daughter of Rorona. She has long hair with heart symbols and wears hand-me-downs from Rorona. Elmeria is a studious and reckless girl who is studying alchemy under her master so she can be like her mother. However, she stumbles upon a certain book one day.

Another character revealed was Eva Armster, Elmeria’s childhood friend. Eva is a hardworking and proper girl who works at a nursery school. She wields weapons such as bazookas and Gatling Guns yet has a quiet personality.

Atelier Lulua takes place in a larger Arland Republic but Elmeria’s mother, Rorona, is somewhere far away.

Atelier Lulua: The Alchemist of Arland 4 is set to release in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Switch in 2019. The game will have a standard edition for 7,800 yen and a limited edition for 10,800 yen.

(Please note: Lulua, Elmeria and Eva Armster are unofficial romanizations)
