Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

The long-winding saga of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana‘s localization woes continue. NIS America recently pulled all of the free DLC for the game on the Nintendo Switch from the eShop.

The reason? Some users reported that it was crashing their game. The issue occurred while the game checked for the DLC and launch patch at the start.

NIS America pulled the DLC and is currently working on patch 1.03 to resolve the issue. When the patch is released a week after Ys VIII’s launch date, the company plans to re-add the DLC to the eShop.

In the meantime, if you are one of the users experiencing this issue, NISA suggested this temporary fix:

  • 1. Remove game card, press “+” button on app icon Manage Software. Delete Software to delete software and remove patches.

  • 2. Reinstall game card then re-download the patches.
