One of my traditions every year when I cover PAX West is compiling a list of all the cool things I saw at the show. Usually that’s a mix of displays, cool cosplay and just things that stick out to me. With that in mind, I figured I might as well give the same treatment to an even bigger show, E3 2018! The following pictures are split into the days I took them, and some might have a little extra context thrown in for good measure.

These first pics came courtesy of our own Benny Carillo, from when he attended the Sony Presser on the day before E3 officially opened. Lots of beautiful backdrops and crowds of hungry journalists.

Day 1 was a hell of a learning curve as I was shown the layout of the massive convention center. Played lots of good games, didn’t drink enough water and saw some cool gamer related art. Thankfully it all culminated with beer and burgers at Karl Strauss.

Day 2 was perhaps my favorite, as it involved me playing lots and lots of indies at both IndieCade and MIX, not to mention some great gaming with XSEED. I also discovered food trucks and picked up some nice collectible Senran Kagura swag.

The final day I made sure to take a TON of photos, just to capture as many memories as possible. I also wandered around pointlessly trying to find where Microsoft was hiding their games that day and discovered an even better food truck. It all ended with my second dose of fried chicken which almost did me in, but not quite. Plus Benny and I got some pictures with our favorite robot.

All in all, I had a fantastic time at E3 this year, and hope to be able to attend it again soon. Many thanks once again to all the developers and PR we met with, and thanks to my fellow game journalists for letting me use their images in this article.

Stay tuned to oprainfall for more coverage of fantastic gaming events, including the upcoming PAX West!
