In an interview with Game Informer, Square Enix division executive Tomoya Asano has revealed that Square Enix are planning more titles for the Nintendo Switch. He says that “If Octopath Traveler does well and this is something that appeals to fans, we want to focus on Switch. Please pick up the Switch if you want to play games like Octopath Traveler.”

When asked to elaborate on whether Switch games are in development or Square Enix’s support of the Switch is dependent on Octopath Traveler selling well, he says “There are several other titles that we’re currently working on for Switch. If you could just wait a bit longer, we’ll work with Nintendo and announce them in the future.”

Furthermore, it’s also revealed that the team behind the upcoming Switch exclusive RPG Octopath Traveler has become it’s own division at Square Enix as of April 2018.

Octopath Traveler releases worldwide for Switch on 13th July.
