Street Fighter V | New Interface

Today, Capcom announced a new edition for Street Fighter V. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is slated for January 16th, 2018. All content from the original release will be featured. Current players will also receive it for free via update. For North America, it will cost $39.99 for both physical and digital. European pricing will be dependent on the local retailer.

Multiple new modes have been added to enhance the experience. Arcade Mode is added and based on earlier entries such as Street Fighter 3 with multiple paths, with unique endings based on player performance. Extra Battle Mode offers timed exclusive challenges to use fight money for a chance to win premium costumes. All characters will also received new V-trigger moves. A gallery is added and improved user interface. All season one and season two characters will also be included in the package.

Owners of the original version and the updated version will fight in the same player pool. Owners of the PS4 and PC will also be able to fight eachother. However, the initial Street Fighter V purchase is still needed to have the most up to date version. All of the post launch content is earnable via fight money or completing certain challenges. They can also be obtained with real money to get more fight money to purchase them. Season two is also on-going, with one final character yet to be announced.

SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 5, 2017 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced Street Fighter® V: Arcade Edition, an updated version of the latest game in the hit fighting series that will release exclusively for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC on January 16, 2018. This new version will include everything from the original release of Street Fighter® V, along with the addition of brand new gameplay-related content including Arcade Mode, Extra Battle Mode, new V-Trigger moves, Gallery, a completely redesigned User Interface and more. Current Street Fighter V players will also receive all of this new content for free via an in-game update when Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition releases. In the upcoming Arcade Mode, players can reminisce in the Street Fighter series history as they celebrate the last 30 years of the multi-million selling franchise. Choose from six different paths and compete in matches against CPU opponents to reveal unique endings based on player performance. In Extra Battle Mode, a new series of time exclusive challenges will be available for players to use their Fight Money for the chance to receive an exclusive premium outfit each month. Complete all four challenges each month and receive a special premium costume exclusive to this mode. With extra challenges being added and more unannounced content on the way, Street Fighter V will continue to deliver new and refreshed content on a regular basis throughout 2018 and beyond. Current players of Street Fighter V and future owners of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be placed into the same player pool, with PS4 and PC cross-platform play continuing to unite fans into a unified player base. The initial Street Fighter V purchase is still the only one that consumers need to make to ensure they always have the most up-to-date version of the title. All of the post launch gameplay content, such as the DLC characters in Street Fighter V, is earnable completely free of charge through completing various in-game challenges and receiving earned in-game currency, called Fight Money. For those who just can’t wait to unlock each piece of new content, content can also be obtained instantly using purchased in-game currency.
