I love pixel art. It might be retro, but pixels can be so expressive and immersive when done right. Which brings us to the latest game published by Merge Games and developed by Baroque Decay, The Count Lucanor. Though it’s available now on Steam, I was interested to see it’s headed to the Nintendo Switch this October 28th. Touted as a fantasy-horror action-adventure, it features puzzle solving, multiple endings and more. Best of all, it has an ominous and deeply twisted aesthetic. With the loving retro style, The Count Lucanor looks like a promising addition to the Switch library. Keep reading to seem more game features.

The Count Lucanor | Rubble

The Count Lucanor is an action-adventure with a retro feel that falls halfway between 8-bit and 16-bit styles. Inspired by classic games like The Legend of Zelda, Yume Nikki, Silent Hill and Dark Souls, The Count Lucanor is an amazing mystery and horror adventure set in a fairytale world. The game features important choices, alternative endings, secrets and different ways to solve puzzles.

The Count Lucanor | Goats

The Count Lucanor features a soundtrack by the greatest composer of all time, Johann Sebastian Bach, that will remain etched in your mind forever. Using chiptune tools, the game features a transformed series of hidden gems from the composer to create unique soundscape.
