Dark Rose Valkyrie

Idea Factory has released new screenshots and an intro movie for Dark Rose Valkyrie. You will be able to fight the chimera in just a few short weeks. Dark Rose Valkyrie will arrive on the PlayStation 4 on June 6th in North America and June 9th in Europe. It will also be available in both physical and digital formats. Here is the North American version of the opening movie, but you can view the European version here.

The developers also released some new screenshots to check out. They show off the interview system, where you need to get testimony about a character and figure out who is lying. Using your special interview skills, you can get proof to verify someone’s story or expose it for the lie it is. You only have a certain number of questions you can ask, but the strategy element goes a bit deeper than that. You could ask everyone the same question, or save all your questions for just one person.

You’ll then compile your findings into a report and decide who you believe is lying (if anyone). If you’re right, you’ll get rewards such as currency or other items. Without further ado, here’s the new screenshots:

Featuring the talents of Tales of series scenario writer Takumi Miyajima and Tales of series character designer Kosuke Fujishima, this JRPG for the PlayStation®4system appoints you to lead an elite military force known as ACID (Anti-Chimera Interception Division) to stand between humanity and those transformed by a mysterious virus. Fight using customized weapons, team attacks, the powerful Overdrive mode, and more! But beyond battle, you’ll have to interrogate teammates to find who’s been turned in order to save the world. Will you find the traitor in time?

Story

In the year 1929, a massive outbreak occurred, transforming normal people into inhuman creatures known as Chimera.

The cause: a mysterious virus carried over by a meteorite known as the Black Garnet, which had crashed into earth long ago.

At its inception, the Chimera Virus wiped out 3% of the world’s entire population. To stave off the pandemic, Japan closed its nation to the rest of the world and formed a covert military agency known as ACID (Anti-Chimera Interception Division) to combat the remaining Chimera in the country.

Over time, ACID established within itself a special unit known as Special ForceValkyrie. You must lead this force and eradicate the Chimera that remain to this day!

Key Features

  • Take the fight into Overdrive! Characters can transform into their stronger split personalities mid-battle, but be strategic – too many transformations will lead to Fatigue!
  • Customize Combos! Customize weapons and attack combinations for each character, and do more damage with Riot Combos, Simultaneous Attacks, and more!
  • A Traitor Amongst You! Depending on your choices, a team member will betray you. Find the traitor in visual-novel style interrogation sequences, and change the game’s ending!

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in my early 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES and SNES. He loves Nintendo but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks or bike rides, and loves animals.

Michael is also a computer programmer. This started with a toy he got as a kid called PreComputer 1000 that was made by V-Tech. It had a simple programming mode which is what started him down the road of being a programmer! Michael can program in BASIC, Visual Basic, C++, C#, and is familiar with Java and Lua Script.

Putting programming and gaming together, Michael became a hobbyist game developer which may give him some good insights on game development! Most recently, he has been playing with the free version of the Unity engine (a powerful and easy-to-use game engine).

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.

I am just waiting to order the Limited Edition!

  • Mr0303

The character designs are a bit plain, but I do like the traitor system – it worked really well in Lost Dimension, so this could a an interesting hook to the game.
