Re:Zero VN release date

A certain Japanese magazine has revealed the release date for the recently announced visual novel Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- Death or Kiss. In development for PS4 and PS Vita by 5pb., the game is set for release in Japan on March 23, 2017. On release, the download version of the game will be available for 7,560 yen (approximately $75 USD), the standard edition will be 8,100 yen ($80 USD), and a limited edition will sell for 11,340 yen ($111 USD).

The game follows a story separate from the original and anime, featuring a “Beauty Queen Election”, which is set to precede the “Next Ruler Election”. The winner of the latter will receive a “noble weapon said to bring about good luck”. Protagonist Subaru is afflicted with a “Curse of Death” by the weapon, which can only be lifted by a “kiss from a beautiful girl”. As such, Subaru is tasked with socializing with the heroines in hopes of eventually getting a kiss and being released from the curse. The available heroines are Emilia, Rem, Ram, Beatrice, Crusch, Anastasia, and Felt.

The magazine also features several scenes from the visual novel, the scans of which can be found below.
