Metroid Prime Federation Force

Nintendo has released a new story trailer for Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Though they call it a story trailer, its more just a 30-second montage of game footage showing a few monsters, battles, and ships crashing. It does look cool, and with the game coming out very soon, we’ll find out how good it is soon enough.

The galactic war between the Federation and the Space Pirates is still raging. I doubt anyone is surprised to hear that. Either way, Metroid Prime: Federation Force lets you enlist with the Federation to fight for what’s right. You can team up in 4-player squads in both online and local multiplayer, or go it alone. Check out the trailer for yourself:

Hop into your specialized Mech and customize it for the coming battle. In each mission, you get to choose your role in the squad by choosing different MODs and subweapons. You can setup your Mech more for healing and play as a support unit for the rest of your squad. Or on the other hand, you can go for maximum fire power and unleash your wrath upon the Space Pirates. Your setup could bolster your chances of surviving to win the day, or potentially contribute to your agonizing defeat.

Many players have been displeased by the fact that you cannot play as Samus in Metroid Prime: Federation Force. It has been hinted that we will see her in the game, though. I do agree that this is not the best, and a very unusual turn for the Metroid series. However, I can live with this as long as the game is good. The last DS Metroid game, Metroid Prime: Hunters, was not so good though. Hopefully Metroid Prime: Federation Force will be much better. Either way, we’ll find out soon enough since the game is launching in just 10 days on August 19th. Let’s hope they make a new proper Metroid Prime game for the NX!

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
