The Summer 2016 season for anime is upon us. We have some interesting new shows starting like as Berzerk, HybridxHeart or Fate/kaleid liner. But while we welcome the new season with open arms lets take a second to look back on some of the great anime the staff at Oprainfall have been enjoying and recommend from the last 2016 season of anime! All of the shows here are watchable on Crunchyroll so simply click on the title and you will be brought to that show’s page.
From the same studio that brought us fan favorite Kill La kill comes Trigger’s latest series Space Patrol Luluco
Luluco is a normal junior high school girl whose father is a detective at the space patrol. One day, she visits the Ogikubo branch of the space patrol to save her father who is suddenly frozen. But she happens to be assigned as a space patrol by the chief director Overjustice. Wearing a space patrol suit with strange functions, will she able to save her father and keep the peace of Ogikubo from space criminals? And will she fulfill her life as a junior high school student, including love and study?
Natsuki Subaru, an ordinary high school student, is on his way home from the convenience store when he finds himself transported to another world. As he’s lost and confused in a new world where he doesn’t even know left from right, the only person to reach out to him was a beautiful girl with silver hair. Determined to repay her somehow for saving him from his own despair, Subaru agrees to help the girl find something she’s looking for…
Adapted from the popular web manga series published by Square Enix, this unconventional, surrealist comedy follows an exhausted high school boy who, despite multiple attempts from his friends, still manages to spectacularly… sleep. Much to the chagrin of the energetic (at times bossy) Ohta, Tanaka is often found in a blissful state of lethargy, possessing the ability to doze off in any situation, especially in mid-sentence!
Sakamoto is not a normal high schooler. He’s smart, he’s dashing, he’s popular with girls. Much to the dislike of the male population of his school, who tries every trick in the book to mess Sakamoto up. But in the end, Sakamoto comes out of every trap with style and makes himself look cooler. Does he do this for popularity? Is this just who he is? No one really knows, but haven’t you heard? He’s Sakamoto!
In 1999 in the town of Morioh located in S-City, M-Prefecture, Josuke Higashikata is one of the more popular guys in high school and becomes quick friends with one of his classmates, Koichi Hirose. But when Josuke’s nephew Jotaro Kujo (who’s older than he is because his father is his nephew’s grandfather, hence the age difference) shows up, things get truly crazy. One of DIO’s henchmen has brought the Bow and Arrow to Morioh and someone has been using it on various people in the town creating Stand users
The story takes place in Sugomori, a city built upon reclaimed land that once prospered as a futuristic city. One high school boy living there, Agata Katsuhira, is somehow unable to feel any pain. One day just before the start of summer break, Katsuhira is called by a mysterious girl named Sonozaki Noriko and chosen to become one of a group of people who share one another’s pain: a “Kiznaiver.” Several of his classmates have also been chosen as part of this group, but they’re all people from different circles who normally wouldn’t associate with each other.
