During the 164th Weekly Shonen Jump podcast by Viz, Bleach was confirmed to end in less than 10 weeks. Word came straight from Hisashi Sasaki, Vice President of Global Shonen Jump for Viz Media. He was also a former editor-in-chief for the Shonen Jump magazine.

Created by Tite Kubo, Bleach started back all the way in 2001. The story entered its final arc 11 years later in 2012. Volume 74 is being reported as the final volume.

Though the manga is almost finished, the anime based on the series ended in 2012. Viz recently announced at Anime Expo that they will be releasing the series on Blu-ray.

With no exact date set for the final chapter, do you think Kubo is serious this time? Let us know in the comments!
