Welcome to episode 77 of Total Control, oprainfall’s official podcast. Recorded on June 29, join Azario Lopez, Justin Guillou, and Steve Baltimore as they discuss the bad reviews given to Star Ocean 5, as well as, if E3 was successful or not. Also, they talk about Sakura Dungeon, Zero Time Dilemma, and Grand Kingdom. Additionally, the Limited Run Games audio conversation is plugged. This audio goes deeper into the interview and hots more banter than the written version.

The intro to Total Control was made by Anime Chris.

I was expecting Azario to mention the Last Guardian release date. I figured this will be the point that will make him cry rather than Kratos.

On the issue of save points I’m a bit split – it depends on the game. Modern RPGs should have an autosave function at least after each chapter/level. Depending on the game design fixed save points can be annoying and used for little more than padding. In dungeon crawlers I think the option to save the game anywhere should be available.

When it comes to favourite movie there is a lot to choose from, but I think I’ll go with Jurassic Park. A movie that I can watch all the time is the 13th Warrior.

I’ve always liked save points in RPGs because it gave a definite pause – and many doubled as a rest area to heal up before bosses. I’m fine either way though.

I liked the interview at the end. I am glad that sekai project is on board with limited run games. I really hope those are successful.

My favorite movie is probably The Naked Gun. It has OJ Simpson (back when he had his goody-two shoes reputation)!
