Tatsuya Minami, CEO and president of PlatinumGames, has resigned his position according to GamesBuisness.jp. Kenichi Sato was named his successor.

Minami formally worked for Capcom where he worked on titles such as Resident Evil, Mega Man Legends, and Phoenix Wright before leaving the company to form ODDS which would eventually merged with SEEDS to form PlatinumGames.

PlatinumGames is responsible for many critically praised titles such as the Bayonetta games and The Wonderful 101, has recently worked with Nintendo on Star Fox Zero, and are currently developing Nier: Automata for Square Enix.

About Aaron Evangelisti

Aaron is a lifelong video games enthusiast who's been playing since the days of the NES. He enjoys just about all types of games from RPGs, to platformers, to strategy. He also fancies himself a bit of a writer so writing about video games makes sense, right?

I wonder what the reason behind his resignation could be. Perhaps the multiple third party contracts that Platinum has been handling recently.
