Creative assembly has revealed videos of two new units in the upcoming Total War: WARHAMMER Vampire Counts campaign. They are the blood-curdling Terrorghiest, and the ravenous Vargheist. These units allow the Vampire Counts to strike from above with the element of surprise, leaving their foes in shock and terror. The deathly screech of the Terrorghiest may herold the end for those who hear it. Here are the reveal trailers of both of these new terrors of the sky.

Arguably more so than other races, the Vampire Counts rely on death from above to close with and shock the enemy. Fortunately, winged nightmares of various shapes, sizes and abilities are in good supply for the Vampire Counts player. Two new Total War: WARHAMMER ‘Introducing…’ videos shine a cold and eerie light upon the ravenous Vargheists and the blood-curdling Terrorghiest.

As the purest darkness of a Vampire’s soul made manifest, Varghiests are truly the stuff of nightmares. Towering winged beasts, each several times the size of a man, they can be deployed with devastating effect from above to rip battle lines to pieces. Learn more about these monstrous predators here.

Though Vampire Counts have several flying units, it is the Terrorgheist that is the most lethal. This enormous bat-like monster of fang and talon, induces abject terror in all but the most steadfast. It has poisonous attacksthat weakens its prey, readying them for slaughter and can even regenerate when wounded. See it in its full horror right here.

A fantasy strategy game of legendary proportions, Total War: WARHAMMER combines an addictive turn-based campaign of conquest and empire-building with explosive, colossal, real-time battles, all set in the vivid and incredible world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. Total War: WARHAMMER will release on May 24th 2016 and is available now to pre-order

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general).

Michael is also a computer programmer. This started with a toy he got as a kid called Pre-Computer 1000 that was made by V-Tech. It had a simple programming mode (a bare-bones version of BASIC) which is what started him down the road of being a programmer! Michael can program in BASIC, Visual Basic, C++, C#, and is familiar with Java and Lua Script.

Putting programming and gaming together, Michael became a hobbyist game developer, which may give him some good insights on game development! Most recently, he has been playing with the Unity 3D game engine (a powerful and easy-to-use engine) and learning 3D modelling in Blender.

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
