Kingsglaive was announced at the Square Enix Final Fantasy Uncovered event as a CG full length movie. After the reveal, fans became skeptical of the trailer since it didn’t look like CG at all. The truth emerged a mere two days after the event; Aaron Paul admitted to the press that it was actually live action in this statement:

Square Enix thought it would make for a better reveal if we told audiences that it was CG, but Nyx is actually being played by me. Nothing in the movie is CG, do you think a company can make CG that good? Don’t make me laugh, it’s live-action.

So to clear it all up, Nyx is being played by the real life Aaron Paul and the trailer is live-action.

Kingsglaive Final Fantasy will be released via streaming services later this year.
