Dragon Quest VII

Nintendo have released new details on Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past’s Western release as part of today’s Nintendo Direct.

The title has been retranslated and the graphics reworked from the original 2000 PlayStation release.

The game currently has a tentative release date of “later in 2016” for North America.

More details to follow.

About Joseph Puntschart

A university student who loves niche games and desires for them to be more fairly represented in the world. Favourite games include Persona 4 Golden, Super Mario Galaxy, Kingdom Hearts II and IA/VT Colorful. Hopes that one day a Japanese publisher will take the risk and make a Yaoi ecchi game. Think Valkyrie Drive with guys and you're on the right lines.

    Pre-order cancelled.

to be fair, square enix said they needed to update the translation anyway to match up the spell names to the modern DQ spell names among others

  • Archer

Eh. I still haven’t even gotten around to playing my copy of the original.

  • Vanadise

After Fire Emblem: Fates and Bravely Second, I can’t wait to see how this one gets chopped up… especially since DQ7 is a very text-heavy game.

    Nintendo, Square… Pass

  • Ragunaxl

By new translation do you mean self-censorship that is against my basic human rights? But secretly we all hate square enix and Nintendo because we’re more hardcore and only enjoy balned atlus niche games…

  • MusouTensei

I bet it will be super duppity memetastic.
