Ys VIII | Key Visual

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has revealed new details about Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. The newest entry in the Ys series will feature two protagonists.

The second protagonist is the mysterious blue-haired woman that was previously featured in the game’s key visual. The name of the woman is Dana. Dana will appear in Adol’s dreams and through these dreams, Adol will be able to experience Dana’s life. So the game will feature two different stories; Adol’s story and Dana’s story. Both of these stories will be connected to each other.

Dana’s story which Adol sees through his dreams will affect his adventure itself. Dana also recognizes Adol and just like with Adol, Dana’s adventure will be affected by Adol’s story and actions.

It is said that Dana’s speed and power exceeds even that of Adol the Red’s.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is set to release in Japan in the summer of 2016. It will release for both the PS4 and PS Vita. No western release has been announced at this time.
