Pokémon New Nintendo 3DS bundle

North America gets in on the Pokémon 20th anniversary action with the announcement of a New Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Red and Blue bundle. This exclusive bundle for the non-XL New 3DS comes with both Pokémon Red and Blue pre-installed. Two cover plates for both Red and Blue, featuring Charizard and Blastoise respectively, will come with the bundle.

It looks like Pokémon Yellow will be missing out on this particular bundle, but getting both Pokémon Red and Blue with matching cover plates is a nice touch. It’s incredibly nice to see all territories getting special system bundles in celebration of 20 years of Pokémon!

That picture is so nostalgic. Unfortunately, I’m not in the market for a New 3DS, and if I was, I’d want an XL (even though the face plates on the regular are pretty awesome).

  • Infophile

So wait, is this the first time they’re releasing the non-XL N3DS in NA? Huh, well, better than never, but I wish they hadn’t waited so long.

No, the non-XL New 3DS was previously made available in a bundle with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer this past September.
