IA Live Showcase Promo Image

Virtual idol IA recently had a sold out 3D Live Performance on July 4th as part of the Cool Japan Festival. It was held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles and was IA’s 1st live performance in North America. Fans in the east coast will now have an opportunity to see IA perform live as 1st PLACE has announced that IA will be having a Special 3D Live Showcase in NYC. The Special 3D Live Showcase will be held in the Gramercy Theater on October 11 of this year. This will be IA’s 2nd live performance in North America and will take place after her 1st solo live concert in Japan on September 19th. Like her live performance in Japan the NYC Special Live Showcase will have the title “Party A GoGo”.

IA will perform many of her hit songs including those from KAGEROU PROJECT at the Live Showcase. Special merchandise will be sold at the event as well as at 1st PLACE’s booth #439 at New York Comic Con 2015. There will be VIP tickets sold for the live performance and the VIP tickets will include some special goods as well as priority entry. You can purchase tickets for the event HERE.

IA is a VOCALOID who was developed and distributed by 1st Place Co., Ltd. She was developed using the VOCALOID3 engine and her voice samples were provided by Japanese singer Lia. Lia is known for performing songs for anime such as Angel Beats and Charlotte. Since her debut, IA’s videos have gathered a staggering 100 million views. She is the featured singer in JIN’s KAGEROU PROJECT and has sung well known songs such as “Children Record” and “Summertime Record”. IA has performed live in countries such as France and Taiwan and has had Concert Movie screenings in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. IA recently released her first video game on July 30th titled 「IA/VT ‒COLORFUL-」. It is a rhythm game like the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA series of games and was released for the PlayStation Vita.

Videos for her songs, “Children Record” and “Summertime Record”, can be seen below.

It’s nice to see that IA is gathering popularity in the west,  she may not be at the level of Hatsune Miku’s popularity, but her receiving concert venues in North America is proof that VOCALOID’s other than the Crypton Future Media ones (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Megurine Luka etc.) are popular globally as well. Hopefully this Live Showcase can help open the door for more performances to be held not just in North America but in other countries around the world as well.

Tickets for the 3D Live Showcase go on sale September 11th at 10:00 AM EDT. IA’s official website can be reached HERE.

Updates for the event and more can be seen on IA’s Official Global Facebook page HERE. Though the words “Special Showcase” have been used instead of concert, it should be known that this is in fact an actual concert though there will be no live band backing IA.
