Neon Genesis Evangelion: Girlfriend of Steel 2nd | Cover Art

Neon Genesis Evangelion is bonkers popular guys. There have been all sorts of bizarre, arguably inappropriate tie-ins and adaptations. There have been goofy monster-hunting manga, advertisements for shaving razors, and of course, the alternate universe dating sim visual novel Girlfriend of Steel where you can choose whether to date Asuka, Rei, or Kaworu from the anime series. (No Misato though?)

And now ten years after its release, Peace Hillcock has released an English patch for Girlfriend of Steel 2nd for all of us who can’t speak the words of the rising sun. It can be applied to PC versions of the game.

I’ll always find this visual novel an odd choice, but now Americans can experience one of the few times that Shinji isn’t a miserable, neurotic mess.
