The PlayStation Blog has announced that Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is headed to the Vita as a digital download March 3rd. It is slated to cost $19.99 when it arrives. This is no doubt great news for fans who have long awaited a solid release date for this stylish JRPG, which to me looks somewhat like what would happen if a team turned Okami into a RPG.

According to the Blog, the game is set to take place in ancient Japan, with art inspired by the brush painting style found in the Heian era. You will explore a world filled with mythology, which not doubt means insane yet fantastic Japanese creatures, as well as full Japanese voiceover. As for gameplay itself, you take control of one of two clans whose bloodline has been afflicted with a terrible curse. Either a Curse of Ephermerality or Broken Lineage, respectively.

As a final bonus incentive, those who purchase the game within a two week period of the March release will receive two rare gods as a bonus. They can’t be unlocked via gameplay either, so if you snooze you lose. I myself have now added Oreshika to my list of upcoming Vita purchases, just for the beautiful hand drawn art alone.
