A new trailer for the upcoming entry in the Kirby series, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse has been released. This time we are given a brief look at the amiibo functionality in the game. Players can use the Kirby, Meta Knight or King Dedede amiibos to give Kirby some abilities. The Kirby amiibo will allow you to perform the Star Dash at any time, the Meta Knight will not only let you wear his mask, but will increase your offense and, finally, the Dedede one will increase your physical strength and, of course, Kirby will be wearing his hat while this powerup is in effect. You can check out the video below to see each of these powerups in action. While the Kirby amiibo is available now, the Meta Knight and Dedede ones will be released in Japan on January 22, with the North American and European release not too far behind it. Keep in mind that, if you are in North America, the Meta Knight amiibo is a Best Buy-exclusive.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will be released on the Nintendo Wii U in Japan on January 22. A release in North America and Europe is planned on February 13.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is available for pre-order on Amazon:
