final fantasy xv

Square Enix has shared a new English version of the Tokyo Game Show 2014 trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. The trailer shows off the gang as they drive around, fight monsters and generally act lackadaisical. My only question is why, in a world full of hovering robots, are the main characters driving around an old-school car? That aside, Final Fantasy XV looks graphically stunning and should be a nice transition from Square Enix’s obsession with Lightning as of late. Take a gander at the trailer and let us know what you think!

Directed by Tetsuya Nomura and Hajime Tabata, Final Fantasy XV is the latest in Square Enix’s classic RPG series and is slated to come to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in the near future. Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders.

About Josh Speer

Josh Speer is addicted to two things in equal measure : Books and Videogames. He has a degree from the University of Washington in English with an emphasis on writing. He joined Operation Rainfall last year while following it on Facebook. His two giant life goals are to write his own series of fantasy / science fiction novels and to get into the creative side of the video game industry. He is beyond pleased to now have his proverbial foot in the door thanks to the opportunity provided by Oprainfall!

Not luving the actors’ voices. I hope they will be a an option for Japanese audio and english subtitles. I doubt it’ll happen but here’s hoping.

    Ugh. Kill me now.

The car is so disconcerting in a fantasy environment. Yeah, I know, it’s hardly the first FF with cars in it, but past games worked to make the technology fit. It seems jarringly out of place here. Or maybe that’s the point?

They need to work on Noctis….the others are fine.
