Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is finally available in North America, and to celebrate, Square Enix has released a very special launch trailer for the game. Rather than showing off various bits gameplay and cutscenes in conjunction with the series’ glorious soundtrack, Square Enix has opted to put the spotlight on both the fans and the developers of the series. The trailer features gamers from around the world discussing how they discovered the series, what the story and characters mean to them, and even act out their favorite scenes from the games. The developers of the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX are then presented with this footage to see just how much their efforts mean to fans of this franchise.
Kingdom Hearts means a lot to me as both a gamer and a fan of RPGs. I remember first reading about the first game in GamePro magazine, playing it for the first time at a local FYE and getting both it and the PS2 at Circuit City after getting my first real job. I cannot put into word how much I love this franchise and it’s amazing to see fans all over the world feel the same way. In the games industry, it can be easy to take for granted how much work goes into these games and how loved these virtual worlds can be to people. It’s nice to see these developers get to see how their work has touched the lives of so many.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is now available for PlayStation 3.
