Xenoblade Chronicles X

It was recently announced that Xenoblade Chronicles X‘s director, Tetsuya Takahashi, would be revealing information on the new Wii U exclusive title via his personal Twitter account. Takahashi has now begun tweeting multiple entries on the game, including news that screenwriter Kazuho Hyodo helped with some of the game’s story. Hyodo has been a screenwriter on a large number of projects including episodes of Gundam SEED Destiny, Magica Wars, and Robot Girls Z.

Translated by Siliconera, Takahashi’s tweet reads:

This time around, aside from Mr. Kunihiko Tanaka, I have also asked many other graphic artists to help with design, As you all might have already realized, many different types of extraterrestrial beings appear in this game, and each has their own characteristic culture.

In order to convey the culture of each of these races through the game’s visuals, we’ve adopted the lavish approach of assigning different artists to each race.

To tell the truth, the script for [Xenoblade Chronicles X] is much larger than it was for the previous Xenoblade, As it would be very hard to handle everything by himself, Mr. Takeda introduced [Hyodo] to me. As Mr. Hyodo is well-versed in sci-fi, I was able to leave things to him without worry.”

Xenoblade Chronicles X is in development by Monolith Soft for the Nintendo Wii U and will release worldwide in 2015.

Seed Destiny…yeah I was hoping it’d be one of the good ones

    • azariosays

One can never be too carful when it comes to gundam series lol

    • MusubiKazesaru

That’s certainly the truth. I enjoy some of them quite a bit (such as G, 08th MS Team, and Zeta) and there are those that have issues but are good in some ways (ZZ (poor start), 0083 (crappy romance and mc muddying the plot), and Unicorn (beautiful visually and great music and design, but the plot ends up going to shit). I plan to watch X soon and Turn A once it gets released on BD, but I plan to stay away from Seed, Wing (maybe since I hear it’s only good due to nostalgia), and Age. I didn’t like how G-reco started at all but someone told me it’s apparently getting better so I might go and catch up on that. I hear Seed Destiny is the absolute bottom of the barrel.

i really liked the story in Age, and found its biggest issue to primarily be some problems with pacing because of trying to jam 3 main character’s stories into just 49 episodes (the anime is kind of like a re-imagining of gundam through ZZ plot wise)… as far as G-reco it is… okay, i’ve watched up to about episode 8 and it is very slowly improving but the first few episode can be downright painful to watch

gundam build fighters and it’s sequel build fighters try are great fun and can easily be enjoyed as long as you don’t try to take them too seriously and enjoy the two shows in the spirit they were made which was to be an excuse to show awesome gundam fights (if you liked G i think you’d like build fighters)

    • MusubiKazesaru

I like the idea of Age at least and I wouldn’t be opposed to trying it at least. Some of the AU series seem to be almost remakes of older stuff.

Yeah I’m watching GBF. S1 was good, but very predictable. Two of the fights in general are amongst the best of the franchise while others are lame and are just BUILD KNUCKLE or something.

I’m pretty sure Try’s main characters is a parody of Domon (before he got angry and when he was younger) especially given how much Sekai’s had in common with him (looking for a relative in a photograph, gets into a fight in episode 1 and ends up with the police, and so on). I wish they’d have him have something beyond his fighting style that magically translates into special abilities while playing Gunpla. It’s always amusing how they act like they’re actually in the battles. G in general is a different beast though.

    • Jeremy Collum

Yeah, I like try and Sekai and it looks like his fighting style might not always score him the automatic win so hopefully the show gets a little more dynamic. Also I just thought I’d reply to the comment you made about some of the AU seeming to be like re-imaginings like gundam seed and age are both re-imaginings of the original gundam and gundam 00 is like a re-imagining of gundam wing

    • MusubiKazesaru

That sounds about right, I think Seed Destiny is supposed to be Zeta of all things lol.

It’s just that his fighting style leading to special powers while playing makes little sense. We need the Master Asia character to appear already

    • Jeremy Collum

i think you’re right on both accounts that seed destiny was supposed to be zeta and it would also be fun to see a master asia character in build fighters try

    • MusubiKazesaru

the newest episode was excellent, it makes the top 3 fights in the series so far along with Meister vs the brothers and him vs Reiji. I think they showed a glimpse of a Master Asia character in the OP

    • Jeremy Collum

i completely agree it was an awesome episode! i can’t wait now for the world tournament to start and for new characters to be introduced and hopefully great returning characters like tatsuya yuki and felini (not sure if i’m spelling either of their names right), i also need to go catch up on g no reconguista but overall i still don’t like it as much as try even though it has some good points like the g-self is cool and good animation

    • MusubiKazesaru

it seems to be just a national tournament this time, unless something else comes up

    • Jeremy Collum

it looks like you’re right and next week’s episode seems to be the obligatory beach episode

    • MusubiKazesaru

more like obligatory girl with Beargguy ep since this is GBF lol…or rather they’re killing two birds with one stone

    • Jeremy Collum

haha it was definitely the two birds with one stone but i enjoyed the episode and it was especially great when mirai used a jigen hao ryu move against her opponent and sekai was all proud of his sister

i actually feel a little bad since i’m completely caught up with GBF Try and love the series but i still haven’t watched any Reconguista no G in a few weeks and i’m starting to fall behind with that gundam series, but i also got to see a preview for the gundam origin ova/movie/maybe series with a young char and it looks pretty darn fantastic

    • MusubiKazesaru

I liked certain bits of it, like the shipping tease :P. Next ep looks like it’ll bring in a bunch of old characters.

I’m pretty annoyed that we’ll have to do so much waiting for Origin, Unicorn took forever to end and when it did it kind of fizzled. pre-0079 is uncharted waters though anime-wise so it should be interesting at least.

    • Jeremy Collum

yeah i still liked unicorn though and i’m looking forward Origin when it does finally come out

  • An Tran

Seed Destiny? Oh god NO. Please tell me he only did a tiny bit.

this is a late reply and i haven’t watched much of seed destiny, but i really hope there isn’t a character like shin asuka in xenoblade chronicles x
