Today via the PlayStation Blog, Aksys Games announced that  Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will hit the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on December 16th, 2014. I’ve been looking at this title for a while and it looks like a fantastic fighting game.

This series to this point has strictly been a 2D fighter, but this time there are some 3D elements thrown into the mix. This is achieved through the use of the Unreal 3 engine. There are a whopping 16 characters to choose from, this includes old and new characters. There will be a couple of DLC characters you can pick up as well.

There is a Limited Edition being released along side the standard edition. Here is a quote from the PlayStation Blog post about what the Limited Edition will contain.

The limited edition will contain a box to hold all the goodies, fashioned in the likeness of the “Backyard”, the Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Vocal Collection (just like the Japanese version!), the Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Character Book which will provide information on characters, terms, and concepts from the beginning of the series to the present, and finally, the Sol Badguy “FREE” belt buckle keychain!

All of that sounds pretty sweet to me. Keep it right here for all the latest news and information about this and other great game releases.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
