Pokken Tournament

The Pokémon Company has announced Pokken Tournament for Japanese arcades early this morning. Developed by the lead producers of Tekken and Soul Calibur, it seems like the game will have the capacity to draw fans from Pokémon enthusiasts to hardcore fighting game players. Also, there has been no mention as to the number of playable Pokémon.

There’s also a trailer where you can see Lucario and Machamp dishing it out. The fighting does look fancy and the moves look like they have a lot of weight behind them. However, when all is said and done, it’s still a trailer; we’ll have to wait for more information to draw any definite conclusions on Pokken Tournament.

Anyway, it has been a common practice in Japan to release popular arcade fighters as console games. So we shouldn’t lose hope for getting the game released here in the West.

See the trailer below.

I want a Wii U version so badly.

  • Razorfall

This could be good. I’m not a big fan of Tekken, but I wouldn’t mind seeing this hit consoles, especially if there are some kind of wondercard goodies to be had.
