Hyrule Warriors - Princess Ruto | oprainfall

It’s always satisfying to see predictions get confirmed leading up to a game’s release. Case in point: in our list of the Top 10 Most Wanted Hyrule Warriors characters, there were plenty of classic Zelda characters whom we thought would fit well into the upcoming action title. Earlier this week, a few of those predictions came true. A recent article revealed that two picks from our list, Sheik and Princess Ruto of Ocarina of Time fame, would be making their way into the game, along with the Goron Darunia.

Now, to go along with this exciting news, Koei Tecmo has released a gameplay trailer showing off just how the Zora princess will be laying waste to the forces of evil on the battlefield. Check out her cool moves below:

You’ve never seen a Zora fight quite like this, that’s for sure! While I envisioned Ruto taking cues from Zora Link in Majora’s Mask, it looks like Koei Tecmo took her in a completely different direction. It seems that being a member of Zora royalty has given Ruto great control over water, which she employs to full effect against the enemy’s forces. Whether she’s smacking enemies around with her fins or trapping them in huge spheres of water, Ruto shows that being a princess doesn’t mean she’s helpless. Plus, I just can’t get enough of the helmeted Goron soldiers providing backup!

The hype only continues to grow for Hyrule Warriors. It seems like we can’t go even a week without a new character reveal, and it just looks better and better the more we see. Who knows, maybe Skull Kid or Nabooru will be making an appearance next. All I know is that the September 26 release (September 19th for Europeans) doesn’t feel like it’s getting any nearer.

Hyrule Warriors is available from pre-order on Amazon:
