Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire - Mega Swampert

We’re less than half a year away from the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and the news about these highly anticipated remakes is coming faster and faster. Two trailers have recently been posted to the Official Pokémon YouTube channel and both show off never-before-seen Mega Evolutions.

The first trailer reveals Mega Sableye, a new and more powerful version of Sableye who first appeared in the original Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. As you can see, when Sableye Mega Evolves, its spiky ears grow longer and it gains a Rupee so large it would make Link wet himself. It is currently unknown whether Sableye’s type will change when it Mega Evolves.

The second trailer gives us a closer look at the Mega Evolutions of the three starter Pokémon. Mega Blaziken already appeared in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, but Mega Swampert and Mega Sceptile have not yet been obtainable. When Swampert Mega Evolves it gains the ability Swift Swim and its attack increases. Mega Sceptile becomes Grass/Dragon type and gets the Lightning Rod ability. Finally, the trailer revealed Mega Diancie, which is an interesting choice because Diancie has yet to be officially released, though it seems an upcoming event will unlock it in Pokémon X and Y, with the corresponding Mega Stone being obtainable in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Operation Rainfall will have all your Pokémon news leading up to the new releases on November 21.
