INITIAL GOAL REACHED

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: Chrono Rider | oprainfall

Chrono Rider

  • Initial Goal: $1,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U ($5,000 stretch goal)

From the Kickstarter page:

Chrono Rider is a story driven 2-D action RPG with both single-player and local mutiplayer support.  Korion Studios aims to deliver a thrilling narrative and an immersive gameplay experience inspired by 16-bit RPGs and classic sidescrollers.  Chrono Rider begin its open early-access beta in December 2014 on the PC, followed by a full release in March 2015.  With your support we will be able to afford game engine assets to improve our development.  Multiplatform support is subject to approval and the PC platform is our focus.

Start as Captain Corgi, a Chrono Rider capable of traveling through time and space to find your fellow friends and unlock the mysteries of ZoogleZon.  Throughout Captain Corgi’s adventures you will solve puzzles, and challenge rogue Chrono Riders.  The story is influenced by the decisions you make with the characters you meet.

Fallen Temple - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

Fallen Temple

  • Goal: $200 CAD
  • Platform: Windows

From the Kickstarter page:

Fallen Temple is a 2-D action RPG that combines the dungeon puzzling of Zelda and the Hack’n’Slash game play of Diablo 1 in a fresh, fast paced 2-D game, driven by a story of ancient Egyptian mythology and unknown mystery.

There are no set classes in the game. The items you chose to wear will determine how you play the game. Use wands and cloth armour to do more damage with spell, use swords and heavy armour to play as a tanky warrior, or a combination of both for a battle mage kind of feel. Level up to level 99. Craft items, weapons, and armour with a in depth but simple crafting system. We are working on a pet system it may or may not be in the final game!

There are many secrets and hidden areas to be discovered. Find hidden rooms with items and quests. Even after thinking you have uncovered them all, I am sure that there will be some you missed. Fallen Temple will be very in depth, consisting of more than just a main story line with tons of side quest to complete.

The game has puzzle elements but not to the point where it overwhelms the action gameplay.

For those wondering why the initial goal was so low, the developer was seeking funds to help secure a Steam Greenlight account. Most of the stretch goals are focused on polishing the artwork.

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: Keith the Magnificent | oprainfall

Keith the Magnificent

  • Initial Goal: £2,500
  • Platforms: Windows, Linux

From the Kickstarter page:

The game is focused on Keith the Wizard and his severe lack of friends and his everlasting desire to gain new ones, mainly so they can do things for him and make him feel good about himself. Through his quest of finding friends you will help him rob graves, dissect corpses, set friends on fire for his own amusement, and maybe actually find a friend who can get him out of sadness, loneliness and enjoying very alcoholic fruity beverages far too early on a Tuesday.

Combine items in clever ways using different techniques to create all kinds of bizarre creations, dissect corpses, make your new cyborg butler or just create Keith’s favorite beverage to solve the various puzzles and conundrums that faces Keith in his search for new buddies.

LOADING HUMAN

  • Initial Goal: $30,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Oculus Rift support, PS4

From the Kickstarter page:

25 August 2185.

Prometheus has just arrived at his father’s base to begin his intensive training for a deep space mission. In a few years, he will have to guide the spaceship “Origin” toward an energy source located in the Eagle Nebula. But many things will happen to him before take off…

During the game you will travel into Prometheus’s mind, randomly reliving fragments of his memories in a non-linear way (think of Quantum Leap: you will “zap” from one memory to another). The action will start at the North Pole, in your father’s base, where you’ll have to train in order to complete your mission: retrieve the quintessence – a dark-energy source found in the Eagle Nebula (M16) – and bring it back to your father, who needs it in order to survive. But during the training period you’ll meet Alice, a woman you’ll fall in love with… and leaving for the mission will be harder than ever: your father won’t accept it…

We really don’t want to spoil the story, all we can say is that while you will travel from one memory fragment to another, you will soon discover a whole new reality in-between…

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: OMORI | oprainfall

OMORI

  • Initial Goal: $22,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, 3DS ($180,000 stretch goal), PS Vita ($250,000 stretch goal)

From the Kickstarter page:

Welcome to WHITE SPACE. Your name is OMORI and you’ve been living here for as long as you can remember. Everything is bright white; there aren’t any walls. A black lightbulb hangs from the ceiling… wherever it is. There’s a floor but it’s always cold. The warmest thing here is probably your laptop. You don’t mind though. You have a blanket, a laptop, a cat, a sketchbook, and a tissue box. You have everything you need.

You are usually upset. Everyone annoys you, you think you are ugly, you don’t know where you came from, you don’t know where you are going, and you’re too tired to care.

On good days, your neighbors invite you over for a visit. “How can they have fun with someone as horrible as me?” You miss them now. When will they come again? Maybe today will be a good day!

Or maybe today is a day for sleeping.

But…Sometimes you’re reminded you used to have another friend– someone really important.

Somewhere in the back of your head, you have an inkling feeling that you weren’t always like this. You weren’t always living in WHITE SPACE.

The truth is…

Your story is already over.
You just have to remember it.

Project GE - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

Project GE

  • Goal: £1,000
  • Platforms: PC

From the Indiegogo page:

Since the development for Age of Aincrad is going to take a fair few years, this is a side project that will take a fraction of the time.

This project is by the same team developing Age of Aincrad, but any funds taken for this project will not be used on the main development of Age of Aincrad. All funds taken for this will be used to improve GE.

Please remember, this is for GE Alpha! NOT AoA Alpha!

Mechanics that we have talked about:

  • Simple game
  • Health System (Players must be careful when doing raids. Going in with little health could result in ending up in a hospital for a set time)
  • Skills (Players can use these skills to improve the chance that an action/quest is completed)
  • Sub Levels (These levels link in with the skills, the skills can be levelled to increase the chance)
  • Quests (At the moment, there is a basic quest system. This will be expanded upon)
  • Item System (You can collect items in GE to increase your stats)
  • Currency (Gold will be a currency in-game, this can be obtained by defeating mobs and quests)
  • Trading System (This is something we are currently talking about, might or might not happen)
  • Raids (Raids are like quests, but they are risky and do not have an energy limit. It could result in being hospitalised)
  • Death System (As mentioned above, if you are killed, you will end up in a hospital. Locked there for a set time)
  • Overall Experience System (You can gain levels in GE with obtaining EXP)
  • Skill Point Tree (Different Trees, points that add to skills in trees)
  • Specialization points (Used to unlock different keys)
  • Drop Tables
  • Guilds Bonuses
  • Random Events (You’ll see)

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: Red Goddess | oprainfall

Red Goddess: Inner World

  • Initial Goal: $30,000
  • Platforms: Steam, Windows, Mac OS, Linux, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U

From the Kickstarter page:

The story revolves around a troubled goddess named Divine. She feels confused and haunted by her past. Something mysterious and unknown is tearing her apart from the inside out, destroying her mind, her soul ….and her altogether! Our journey begins when Divine decides to right this wrong by exploring her own subconscious. She will discover a planet within her own mind made up of mountains, forests, caves, and unknown perils.

Discovering who she is, who she was, and what she will become is our quest…..but soon we realize that there is more to this adventure than what we first thought.

Explore a mysterious Planet driven by the subconscious mind of the main character: Divine.

The whole Planet is aggressive and will try to block your way and stop you from entering other areas. Fortunately, the alarm bar located on the screen lets you know if the Planet can detect you. There are many ways to trigger this alarm:

  • If you go too far away from your other half
  • If you are detected by special enemy “spies”
  • If you are injured too many times within a short period
  • If you do not solve the puzzles correctly

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: The Way | oprainfall

The Way

  • Initial Goal: $15,000 CAD
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS and Linux; iOS, Android and Ouya ($25,000 stretch goal); PSN, Xbox Live and Wii U ($100,000 stretch goal)

From the Kickstarter page:

The Way is a 2D puzzle platformer game inspired by classic titles like Another World, Heart of Darkness and Flashback. Seeing the remakes and re-releases of those titles we realised that there are no new games that would have similar spirit and gameplay.

It is a real shame, because those were some of our favorite titles back in the day and we still play them once in a while. Revisiting those games always makes us wish for something new that would deliver the similar experience and emotions.

We decided to fill in this empty spot by creating our own game – The Way!

Without giving too much away, The Way tells a story about a member of space explorers team, who lost his beloved one and cannot accept her death. Finding ancient writtings on eternal existence during one of his last expeditions makes him come back there in search of the meaning of life itself.

He will soon know that the planet has its own secrets and problems that he will need to face in order to get what he is looking for.

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: Zenzizenzic | oprainfall

Zenzizenzic

  • Initial Goal: €2,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux

From the Kickstarter page:

Zenzizenzic is a high paced, adrenaline infused, challenging and addictive twin stick shoot ’em up bullet hell game for Windows, Mac and Linux! It features a beautiful, cohesive and abstract art style combined with thrilling, addictive one and two player gameplay along with a soundtrack that is sure to get the adrenaline pumping!

Zenzizenzic gives the player a compelling and challenging experience that strongly motivates the feeling of “let’s try one more time!”. Expect five well balanced, thought out and uniquely varied levels which can be conquered with an exotic selection of weaponry, ranging from screen filling lasers to black holes and time manipulating jumps.

The game takes a well established genre of games and aims to lift it up to the next level through highly responsive controls, modern gameplay mechanics, a unique art style and a blasting beat. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel of bullet hell and twin stick shoot ’em up games, it rather tries to make it the fastest, tightest and most agile of all.

Zenzizenzic is aimed at the players who seek a challenge. The progressive nature of the levels with each offering a new mechanic to overcome, the dynamically increasing difficulty as new enemies are introduced when the player performs well in the game and the rich and layered weapons offer the players a high skill ceiling, giving them the chance and means to test their skills to the fullest!

You can also help this game by voting for it on Steam Greenlight. You can also try out the free beta through the game’s website (linked in the Kickstarter page).
