The Cast of Wild Arms 5

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu included a Q&A with Sony Computer Entertainment producer Kentaro Motomura, who produced Wild Arms 3 and onwards in the series, Jeanne D’Arc, and most recently Soul Sacrifice.

In the interview, Motomura expressed interest in the possibility of a new entry featuring the series’ “migratory birds” (渡り鳥, the Japanese name for the series’ Dream Chasers and Drifters) for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. He goes on to encourage fans to continue supporting the idea.

Motomura also added that he is working on a new game and that it isn’t finished yet, but he cannot reveal any additional details. With Motomura’s excellent track record of producing games we can assume whatever is announced in the future will be very well-received.

I am flipping out right now at this news.

huge rpg devs assume that no one likes classic turn based rpgs anymore, but i think the surprising sells of bravely default has totally changed their thoughts on this. hoping for more news soon on a new wild arms.

that reminds me… i still have to play and beat the first two, which i downloaded from PSN, hopefully Sony releases 3-5 on PSN as PS2 classics, and honestly i don’t know why they haven’t already…

    • azariosays

true, hopefully if persona 4 sells well they’ll release all the great ps2 classics *cough* Xenosaga *cough*

    • Keichi Morisato

you will have to take Xenosaga up to BandaiNamco, as they are the only ones who could make a final decision.

    • azariosays

“they’ll” as in every publisher ha. it’s easy money really, right?

  • stealth20k

We will see if this turns out to be anything. I am skeptival

  • Thanatos2k

Uh, ok, how do I “continue supporting this idea”?

Why did you stop making Wild Arms anyways?
