Tales of Zestiria | Slay

There’s a whole lot of new information and visuals available for Namco Bandai’s newest Tales title, Tales of Zestiria. Not only do we get a look at the environment and a better look at the two main characters, but the game’s basic premise has also been outlined.

Slay was born and raised in the forest of Elyos. Life there is both peaceful and safe, which might seem ideal, except for one thing: no one is allowed to leave. Perhaps as a consequence of this, Slay has developed a fascination with the forest’s ancient history and spends his time among the nearby ruins. It’s through a mishap there that he runs into a girl named Alicia. It’s unclear how she has entered the ruins, but she is actually from the world outside of Eylos and comes bearing some surprising news.

Alicia reveals the truth to Slay: that the rest of the world is not as peaceful as Eylos. It is in fact overcome with things known as the “Defiled.” They have invaded the entire continent of Glenwood except for the forest of Eylos, wreaking havoc and disaster wherever they roam.

That is all we know so far. It seems safe to guess that Slay and Alicia will leave the forest together, but it doesn’t seem likely that it will be without consequences. A dragon will also play a key part in the story in some fashion. You can see a screenshot of it and many other things down in the gallery below.

Tales of Zestiria will be released worldwide for the PlayStation 3. Official release dates are pending.

i am not too keen on an open world Tales game, as the way Tales of Vesperia was perfectly fine, and i preferred it.

  • RagunaXL

whoa! that game looks great! some of the field areas look like the bionis leg! meatier than other Tales games.

  • Kornelious

But if it’s peaceful in the forest, how come he knows how to use a sword? THE PLOT THICKENS!
