On the eve of the European and Australian release of Bravely Default, it seems that a sequel to the game has officially been confirmed for Japan. This week’s issue of Jump revealed that Bravely Second, a sequel to Bravely Default, will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. Although the article did not share much–such as any sort of release date–it did introduce a new face: Magnolia, a silver-haired character who is “clad in the moon” (pictured above).

Just a few months ago, Square Enix trademarked both Bravely Second and Bravely Thirdmeaning that this announcement is not a huge surprise. It’s also notable that we’re likely to see another entry in the series as Bravely Third was also trademarked.

However, this is certainly exciting news for JRPG fans, especially since the original game is just about to come Westward. Collector’s editions have been confirmed for Europe and North America. If you’re in Europe or Australia, you can pick up the game this week. Unfortunately, those of us in North America will have to wait until February. If you’re looking for more on Bravely Default, be sure to check out the latest trailer. And if you can’t wait for Bravely Second, be sure to stay tuned for more news on the upcoming game!

and what better way to reveal a new character than with a nice view of her crotch

I’d like to see if I like the first one before I get excited about sequels.

AWESOME! wondering if it will be a trilogy… wondering if Vita gamers will get a chance to play it some time down the road, Nintendo doesn’t exactly own it… wondering if there will be other installments on Wii U or a home console.

They already registered the website Bravely Third. And it’s the spiritual sequel to the 4 heroes of light too.

4 heroes is really good! I liked the remakes of III and IV as well 🙂 I recently popped in V and couldn’t help but notice the similarities. First there’s the customizable class system which are similar and both games. Second is the plot, they both have 4 heroes trying to save the crystals and the world from destruction, obviously many final fantasy games share that. but third is the characters… Tiz/Bartz an easy going farmboy and an easy going traveler, Agnes/Reina royalty and protector of the Crystal, Ringabell/Galuf both have amnesia, and Faris/Edea both are leaders of either pirates or military, they are female but tomboyish.

    great news

I really hope this game doesn’t suck. Square hasn’t instilled confidence in their ability to make RPGs of late.

Actually Bravely Default has gotten a lot of praise, plus from what I hear its a call back to some of the oldschool final fantasy’s so if its not great it should at least be good.
